Yesterday, I found that Princess released the tours. I was so excited to see all that I would have the option to do. Most are moderately priced but the overland tours with one exception are higher priced then I thought they would be. In planning for a world cruise, that is one cost that you generally can't find detailed anywhere. To pay it forward, so to speak, I will list the overland tour costs here for others that are planning world cruises in the future.
Cuzco & Machu Picchu Overland (Double Occupancy) $3,000
Overland Adventure: Beijing & The Great Wall - Double Accommodations $1400
Overland Adventure: The Ruins Of Angkor Wat & Phnom Penh - Double Accommodations $1700
Deluxe Grand Overland: Luxor, Karnak, Valley Of The Kings, Aswan, Abu Simbel And Cairo - Double Accommodations $2000
There were two overland tours described in the Princess brochure that are not listed on the web site. They are Galapagos Island and Ayers Rock and Alice Springs. I don't know if they are not being offered or if they will be posted later. I am particularly interested in the Galapagos Island tour.
Of the list, I only signed up for the Great Wall of China. I think I will do Machu Picchu during a different trip when I can spend more time there and get more bang for my buck.
In Egypt I am going to try and schedule a private overland tour which should be cheaper then traveling with the cruise tour. In addition, I did not care for all the stops on the ship's tour. When scheduling my own I can target more of what I want to see.
I'm thinking about Angkor Wat.
I'm starting to get a handle on the other logistics. Cruise insurance, check. Visas for China and India, applied for. Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, check. We are staying at the Comfort Inn Cruise Port South. I've stayed there twice before pre-cruise and enjoyed it. It is a great value because it includes not only breakfast but transportation to the hotel from the airport and from the hotel to the cruise port. However Trip Advisor reviews are mixed at this time.
Now I need to work on flights!

Hi Mchelle, Let me know if this comment gets to you. I don't know if it connects to my email or not. Well, this looks like quite the exciting tour. Keep us posted as to what you see and do. We will be traveling along vicariously!! Dave and I may get up to Park City, Utah as Julie will be there for 2 months with the Sundance Film Festival Dec through Feb. I have never been in Utah so the drive will be fun. No skiing though. I want to keep my original knees. Love, Aunt Mary
