I have a new toy that I will be using on the world cruise. It is a Spot GPS and can send a pre-set I'm OK msg from most places in the world. There is a new link on the blog in the Related Links section that takes you to a page where the GPS locations will be sent. I will test it tomorrow from a random location in Denver.
Here is the map of the coverage.

It also sends Help messages and has a 911 function that dispatches local help to where ever you are. I have presubscribed my family to also get the help message so if one shows up don't feel anyone needs to do anything about it. There is also an emergency response insurance of up to $100,000 for $7.95 per year so I subscribed to that. I probably won't need any of the help or 911 functions but those who are interested in the GPS coordinates will be able to track the ship and my overlands.

Dear Cruiser... Do you know if there is a sort of a "track-finder" to locate the position of the ship ? My father is on the ship, making the world cruise. Then I can see on the internet his position. Thank you for your help ! (yes, he is dutch....)
