The group had scheduled tea at the Burj Al Arab hotel. The guide asked if I wanted to join the tea but I did not have the right shoes and couldn't eat the food due to my gluten issue so declined. However I lucked out in that I was able to accompany the guide while she dropped them off and got to see the inside of the hotel which normally cannot be seen unless you book a service. The tea was something like $108 a person so I was not unhappy to go to a nearby hotel and have a $10 lunch.
The Burj Al Arab hotel is an icon for Dubai. It is an all suite hotel and the pictures that I have seen of the suites are amazing. We didn't get to see a suite but the lobby was lovely.
Pic. 1 is from the hotel I had lunch at. Pic. 2 is a camel right outside the Burj Al Arab. Pic. 3 is of the sheikhs who are pictured in the entrance. They are likely the sheikhs responsible for the development of Dubai and building the hotel. Pic. 4 is of the fountain in the lobby.
