Dubai Museum

After The World's Most Luxurious Hotel we transitioned to the old town area where our first stop was the Dubai Museum (pic. 1). It was a wonderful museum placed in an old fort that was built to protect a water well. You can see the well at the center of pic. 2. Pic 3 shows the original house along with a wind tower. The wind tower (pic. 4) was the traditional way of capturing breeze from any direction and bringing it into the homes during the hot months.

There is an underground component to the museum which is very well done. It takes you through a traditional street scene complete with camel (pic. 5). It also covers the original pearl diving industry, dhow building, and local archeological finds among other things. I could have spent more time exploring this museum.
