Cheops Boat Museum
A large wooden ceremonial boat was found buried near the pyramids. It was encased in stone and covered with large stone blocks. The white building in pic. 1 shows the building where the boat is housed above it's original burial place. You can see the stone resting place and then view the boat from all angles as it is suspended from the ceiling. It is enormous and it is hard to imagine a society that would build such a great boat for a single funeral use and then bury it in its own elaborate crypt. It must have been a very wealthy society to be able to expend such resources for something that was essentially a throw-away.
