Old Cairo - The Hanging Church
Next up was old Cairo where we visited the Moallaqa Church (Hanging Church). It isn't called that because they hang people there but rather because of the way it was built without a proper foundation but instead having all the weight bear down on two towers at either end. However it looks like a regular building (pic. 1). We couldn't enter due to it being the day before the Middle East's Easter. However, there were some spectacular tile mosaics leading up to it (pics 2 and 3).
