Forbidden city - unbelievable courtyards

The Forbidden city is mind boggling in size. The courtyards are enormous. They are filled with interesting details such as these dragon head that appear to spit water when it rains (pic. 1). Apparently there are also holes in the walls to handle run off so they only work in really hard rain. The large urns were designed to hold water to be used in case of a fire.

Pic. 2 shows one side of the courtyard. It is equally large on the other side as I am standing in the middle.
