The Wind and Thunder Gods

This huge painting was also in the temple. It depicts the Wind and Thunder Gods. It was noted in the description that at first glance the two appear to have a ferocious appearance. However upon closer inspection it imparts a somewhat humorous feeling to the viewer. It was lovely to look at.

In this temple this room may be used for prayer (pic. 2). There was no description. However out of all the temples we went to this one allowed us the most access to all the rooms.

Pic. 3 is of the Sixteen Arhats. I didn't get them all in the picture but they figures of monks who vowed to protect the Buddhist doctrine.

We saw many styles of gardens in this temple. One of which was the dry mountains and waters style which included placement of large rocks and green moss on white gravel. The white gravel represents the waters and the large rocks the mountains.
