The long stone
After entering into yet another large courtyard we are headed for the small door in the middle of pic. 1. However on the stairs that we have just descended there is the most amazing long stone, completely carved and all one piece (pic. 2). It is 16.75 meters long, 3.07 meters wide, and 1.7 meters thick. It weighs more than 200 tons. Pic. 3 shows details of this stone. Most of the stones we saw that were carved and in the center of stairways had this waves and mountain theme at the bottom with dragons and/or phoenixes above. The Emperor was the only one permitted to use the center stairway and he was carried above the stones by attendants.
