Summer Palace - the long corridor
Next we entered the long corridor (pic. 1). This was a covered walkway with many gazebos along the way. The paintings were stunning. Each crossbeam had a lovely unique painting on it. The paintings were both on the interior and exterior of the corridor. It would have taken a long time to stop and admire them all. The first pic. shows a straight section. The 2nd pic. shows a curved section. Pics. 3 and 4 show the detail in the interior and exterior painting as well as on the roofs of the gazebos. Pic. 5 is one of the many gazebos. One day I will get on-line and read more about what we saw to fill in some of the blanks in my knowledge.
